Bronze 56k - the most authentic skate brand in the world?
Peter Sidlauskas and his New York crew represent Lo-Fi 90's internet aesthetics. In 2012, they released the 20-minute clip ***56K*** and focused on hardware production. Since then, a comprehensive apparel collection has been added, and the brand sells its stuff in the best shops worldwide. Collaborations with brands like PALACE, Reebok, or HUF underline the success of the project.
According to the founders Peter Sidlauskas and Pat Murray, there is no doubt about it. The brand often and gladly plays with provocative designs and statements. No wonder, considering how a small living room project turned into a brand now available worldwide in over 50 selected shops, including stores like Dover Street Market or Supreme.
Originally, Bronze 56k was just a fake company that posted photoshopped images and products online. As more and more users asked when and where these items could be bought, the ball—or rather, the screws—started rolling. Although Bronze 56k has long since moved past that phase, it still strives to maintain an independent image and carefully selects its shops—keyword: scarcity strategy.
