The 64th quarterly limited edition for Fall 2024 is “The Birds and Trees of North America,” featuring artwork by Rex Brasher (1869-1960).
Rex Brasher's artistic talent, his love for nature, his technical know-how, and his persistence are an inspiring story that should be better known to anyone interested in birds, nature, or art. From a young age, Brasher set out to visit all species of birds in America in their natural habitats. He spent his entire life traveling, collecting notes and drawings, writing personal, insightful descriptions, and painting and repainting birds.
Field Notes has carefully reproduced six of Brashers' colorful illustrations on two 3-packs of Field Notes Ruled Memo Books. The covers are made from a beautiful 100#C Mohawk Via "Pure White" with a felt texture, bound with three stainless steel staples. The notebooks are made from 60#T Domtar Lynx Opaque Ultra and feature light gray lines.
