For an Aeropress grind, tighten the nut fully and then back off a half turn. For a French press grind, turn back 1.5 turns. For a v60 grind, tighten the burr fully and then turn it back half a turn. Depending on the beans used, further adjustments may be necessary. The recommended ratio is 60g/liter. For a moka pot that's somewhere between a drip pot and an espresso pot, set the grind to the finest setting (adjust so the burrs touch) and then turn it up a notch or two.

Cleaning:

• It's best to take the grinder apart and clean it every 4 weeks or more often if you use darker, oily roasts.

• Simply use warm, soapy water and an old toothbrush to remove any coffee residue.

• Then rinse the parts with fresh water and allow them to dry completely before putting them back together.
